RESOURCES

Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas and comes from the natural breakdown (radioactive decay) of uranium. It is usually found in igneous rock and soil, but in some cases, well water may also be a source of radon.

This is generally a concern in homes built in the northern region where they have basements and are creating “living space” under ground.  Since the majority of the foundations in the southern region are “slab” or at grade foundations, we don’t usually see these types of issues, therefore, don't usually test for Radon in our part of the country.
